The El Dorado Hills Citizens Alliance announces these endorsements:
| EDH Community Services District Director: |
Justin Masters, Marc Pearl, Tony Rogozinski |
| EDH Fire District* Director: |
John Knight, Dorothy Nesbitt, Michael Stockam |
* The legal name of the Fire District is the "El Dorado Hills County Water District".
Our choices for CSD were difficult because this election has an
excellent group of candidates. Attendees who reported ratings and candidate choices from the EDHCA
Conversations with Candidates
meeting rated all candidates very highly. We followed up separately
with Marc Pearl, who was unable to attend the meeting, and we judged
his qualifications to be excellent. Ray Myers stepped aside by his
own choice after receiving a favorable professional change which is
reducing the time he could commit to a CSD position, otherwise we would
also include him with a "well qualified" appraisal.
Fire District candidates Dorothy Nesbitt and John Knight are in a
class by themselves. Both have very substantial experience in public
affairs and both excelled in two candidates' forums. Both are
articulate and knowledgeable, staying on topic and answering
questions directly. Both demonstrate the blend of honesty,
discretion, and sensitivity to controversial topics that
is valuable, if not necessary, for directors of public bodies. No
other Fire District candidate has their depth of experience, but we
believe Michael Stockam is the best of all other Fire District
candidates in many dimensions. One of these is attention to the Fire
District as a key part of a larger system of community services,
another is ability to appraise issues under discussion with calm
clarity.
Only three candidates will be elected to each organization, but the Citizens Alliance extends thanks to
all candidates who have stepped forward with willingness to serve our community.
These endorsements are based particularly on results from the Citizens Alliance's
Conversations with Candidates
meeting on September 21st. Additional information came from the
Seniors' forum for Fire District candidates on September 26th,
independent research, and personal contact with individual candidates
