Moni Gilmore
Ramona "Moni" Gilmore passed away this week at age 81.
Moni was our community's strongest advocate for seniors for more years
than most of us have lived here. Her voice was instrumental in creation
of our Senior Center in the former fire station building at Lassen and
El Dorado Hills Blvd., and in promoting an array of services and
programs for seniors. Her presence was felt and welcomed in public
meetings, where she spoke from beneath the broad brims of her
well-known hats to advance the best interests of our elder citizens.
She also served for nearly a decade on the Fire Department's board of
directors.
We honor Moni Gilmore through our memories of her contributions to our community.
