Assemblymember Alyson Huber to speak
at March 24th Citizens Alliance meeting
The meeting will be:
Tuesday, March 24th, 6:30 p.m., 30 minutes earlier than usual El Dorado Hills Library 7455 Silva Valley Parkway
The new El Dorado HillsIt's
not new to us, this is the community that we inhabit. But to the
rest of the world, our Census Designated Place for the 2010 Census is
now becoming a much better match for the reality of that community than
the CDP as it was defined for the 2000 Census.
This week El
Dorado County finalized its submission for the new CDP map. The map has
been submitted to SACOG, which coordinates and reviews such submissions
localities throughout our 6-county region. The new CDP
definition will then go from SACOG to the Census Bureau.
The
Citizens Alliance appreciates the attention given to an appropriate
redefinition of our CDP by the County Planning Department and the
Surveyor's Office. We are also grateful for their outreach: At their
invitation a representative of the Alliance met with County staff last
Tuesday as they considered how to redraw CDP boundaries. We have
confidence in their judgment for this process and we are pleased to
have been able to support the process with a modest contribution of
local knowledge.
