Next Connector JPA Public Workshop in EDH: June 8 at Four Seasons

The Capital Southeast Connector Joint Powers Authority is conducting the second in a series of three community workshop meetings in El Dorado Hills. This one will follow up on results of the first workshop and, we hope, will lead to review of viable Connector routes in the El Dorado Hills/Folsom area at the third community workshop. The third and final workshop is expected to be scheduled for early July

On behalf of the Citizens Alliance we urge everyone tnot only to participate, but also to share this announcement widely in our community. Details for the next public workshop:

Possible alignments for Connector and related roadsCitizens Alliance and Four Seasons Civic League
joint resolution on Connector

The Citizens Alliance and the Four Seasons Civic League have joined to support the Capital Souheast Connector with one very substantive limitation: In the words of the resolution, the Connector must use a route other than White Rock Road to carry regional through traffic between southern Sacramento County and all of El Dorado County.

Without this change long term regional growth would create severe traffic congestion radiating outward from the intersection of White Rock Road and Latrobe Road. Connector traffic at the County line is forecast to be 20,000 average daily trips by 2045, matching the current traffic level on Latrobe Road and not including additional traffic that will be generated in EDH by Business Park buildout, additional Town Center commercial development, and housing growth already committed through Specific Plans.

Links to the joint resolution, its cover letter, and several additional documents and notes are collected at http://www.edhca.net/connector.html. The map except shown here shows traffic counts (average daily trips) in this area reported by the El Dorado County Department of Transportation for 2008. US 50 counts reflect the Caltrans report for 2007.
